Why Wonky is Wonderful

Not All Heroes Wear Capes. Some Are Just a Bit Wonky.

Here at Nim's Naturally, we've always had a soft spot for the underdog. The slightly lopsided apple. The cucumber that took a wrong turn. The parsnip that looks like it's doing yoga. These are the fruits and vegetables that get passed over at the supermarket — not because there's anything wrong with them, but because they don't fit the mould.

Literally.

The Problem with 'Perfect'

Did you know that up to 40% of fruit and vegetables grown in the UK never make it to supermarket shelves? Not because they taste bad, or because they're unsafe to eat — but because they're the wrong shape, the wrong size, or just a little bit... wonky.

That's an enormous amount of perfectly good food going to waste. And we think that's a bit ridiculous, frankly.

What We Do Differently

At Nim's, we source wonky fruit and veg and turn it into something brilliant. Our air-drying process takes whole fruit and vegetables — skin, core, seeds and all — and gently removes the moisture to create crunchy, flavourful crisps, garnishes, powders and teas.

The whole fruit. Nothing wasted. Nothing added.

That means the apple crisps you're munching on? Made from the entire apple — skin, core, pips and all. The veg crisps? Whole vegetables, every bit of them. Even the bits you'd normally throw away are packed with nutrients and flavour.

Good for You. Good for the Planet.

Choosing Nim's isn't just a snack decision — it's a small act of rebellion against food waste. Every bag you buy is a wonky fruit or veg that got a second chance. A delicious, crunchy, guilt-free second chance.

So next time you reach for a bag of Nim's, know that you're not just snacking. You're saving the world. One wonky apple at a time.

(We think that deserves a biscuit. Or, you know, some apple crisps.)
